为提升同学们的口语表达能力、锻炼英文逻辑思维、营造有趣的英语学习氛围。华商国际学院于2021年12月7日星期二12时30分在启智楼404和405室举办了第二届“哈德杯”英语辩论赛初赛。
本次比赛共有五位嘉宾作为评委出席，他们分别是：华商国际学院辅导员杨李军、华商国际学院办公室老师郝自秀、林颖茵、林翠霞、张健熙。
本次“哈德杯”初赛的赛制及规则如下：开篇陈词：正反方每人依次陈述观点；自由辩论：双方各有两分钟的时间进行自由辩论；总结陈词：正反方二辩依次总结陈词。
本次初赛辩题为：
正方：Money can buy happiness；反方：Money can’t buy happiness。
双方主要观点如下：
正方：
Money is a way to acquire happiness. If money doesn't make people feel happy, it is because you don't use money properly.
Money can make you get a better treatment in a better hospital， let you study in a better school， let you free from care to receive and send love.

反方：
Language has no meaning at first,but after we study it ,language becomes meaningful.That is because we need to communicate with other people. The meaning of money is to exchange, it has nothing to do with happiness.
True happiness comes from the inner side, not the external side, it would be shallow and pointless if you judge happiness by money. Valuable happiness originates from our heart.
经评委讨论，本次初赛中成功入围决赛的有四支队伍，分别是：一队，杨梦彤、于正扬；二队，李科宏、黄丁懿；四队，邹楠、陈湘瑜；五队，董诗倩、王倩。
恭喜以上晋级队伍，期待他们在决赛中的精彩表现！
